Organized into 7 modules, Banner Finance Training Online introduces you to the university?s chart of accounts, forms, and terminology used to convey business transactions, financial reporting, and record keeping in the Banner environment. After seeing how to navigate Banner, you will learn about how forms are named and organized, their application, and how to locate financial data regarding projects, funds, organizations, accounts, and programs. The most common Banner forms are reviewed in detail, along with instructions on how to access each form. Resources, such an online glossary and most-used non-Banner finance forms are also included in the course. Forms and charts may be downloaded to your computer. More

In this Training we will outline ten tips on "what makes a good manager" and discuss some common managerial encounters: You've had bad managers, and felt you could do their job better. You are a new manager and don't know what you're doing. You are a new manager and just want a little respect. You are a new manager and you miss your old non-managerial responsibilities. You wish the University offered new managers some training. You wonder whether training would actually help? There's hope and we'll discuss tools to help combat some of these issues. Although, it is difficult to quantify the precise cost of supervisory deficiencies, even a small deficiency could result in a loss of billions of dollars. Data indicates that this problem involves more than ‘a small percentage' and real costs could be considerably larger because managers have a huge impact on turnover and retention. A well-trained manager is confident in his/her role and has the ability to motivate staffers to perform to the best of their abilities. Facilitator: Dr. Ericka Smith, Interim Vice Chancellor, Division of Human Resources More
